Jakarta, June 27 (Antara) - The number of holidaymakers visiting Jakarta recreation centers during the current Eid al-Fitr or Lebaran holidays are expected to reach millions.
Jakarta has numerous recreation sites including three main ones, namely the Jaya Ancol Dream Land in North Jakarta, the Ragunan Zoo in South Jakarta, and the Indonesia in Miniature Park (TMII) in East Jakarta.
About 1.3 million Eid holidaymakers are expected to visit the three recreation centers during the Eid or Lebaran holidays. The Jaya Ancol Dream Land targeted 875 thousand visitors, TMII targeted 350 thousand holidaymakers, and Ragunan Zoo targeted 170 thousand visitors.
On Monday, the second day of Lebaran, traffic congestions occurred on roads that led to the recreation centers.
TMII management stated that its target for two week (June 25 to July 9, 2017) of the Lebaran period was realistic. This target is quite realistic, considering that in 2016, the number of tourists who visited TMII during the Lebaran holidays reached 400 thousand people.
"Currently, because the holiday period is two weeks, the number of visitors could be over the target," TMII Head of Public Relations Jerrymias said in Jakarta on Monday. Peak visits are expected to occur on H + 2 Lebaran (two days after the D-Day) or on Tuesday (June 27), with about 60 thousand visitors.
"On the period of D-Day to H-2 day, visitors will come from the Jabodetabek area (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi). Visitors outside these areas usually follow them," Jerrymias noted.
During the long holidays of Lebaran, the management of TMII raise the price of admission tickets from Rp10 to Rp15.
Based on Antara monitoring, by around 9 a.m. to 11.00 local time, many visitors packed some of TMII's favorite platforms and rides such as Snowbay Water Park, Skyworld, Keong Mas Legend Park, Bird Park, cable car, wind train (aeromovel), and mini train.
In addition to these, the management is also preparing drum parades, percussion, Gambang Kromong, dangdut music performances, and the Nusantara Arts charm in the regional pavilions.
Under the theme "Releasing Homesick Page," TMII managers wish to enable Jabodetabek residents, especially those who could not visit their hometowns, to get the same feel as in their respective hometowns by visiting the regional pavilions.
"With lunch and get together, while listening to the typical music on the platform, we hope the visitors will feel the same atmosphere as of their hometowns even without going home," he remarked.
The Jaya Ancol Dream Land, on the other hand, has targeted 875 thousand visitors.
From 11 a.m, on Monday, approximately 43 thousand visitors filled the recreation area in the Jaya Ancol Dream Land, Jakarta, till 11:00 p.m. during the second day of Lebaran holiday.
"We expect the peak of visitors to increase," Corporate Communication of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Rika Lestari told Antara in Ancol area on Monday.
The Ancol management estimates that on the second day of Lebaran 2017, the number of visitors who will pack a number of recreation areas, such as Dunia Fantasi (Fantasy World), Seaworld Ancol, Carnival Beach, Beach Festival and Lagoon Beach, and Atlantis Water Adventure, would reach 100 thousand.
Earlier, on the first day of Eit al-fitr on Sunday (June 25), the number of visitors of the Jaya Ancol Dream Land had only reached 30 thousand people until 1 p.m.
Rika estimated the peak day of visit to Ancol would occur on Tuesday (June 27). Eid revelers will first visit their relatives on Sunday and Monday.
"We estimate the visitors¿ target during this eight days of Eid holidays to reach 875 thousand visitors," she revealed.
In addition, to facilitate the flow of vehicles within the area of Jaya Ancol Dream Land, the manager implemented a centralized parking system from June 26 to 28, 2017.
In order to provide comfort for visitors, the management provides transportation within the Ancol areas. It also operates new rides and transport modes, such as the Sato-Sato train, for visitors.
"Hence, there is no need to worry about the parking facilities. The transportation service inside the park is free," Rika explained.
In the meantime, the number of visitors to the Ragunan Zoo is expected to peak on Tuesday (June 27).
"The peak usually takes place two days after the Day-Day of Lebaran," Ragunan Zoo Spokesman Wahyudi remarked on Monday.
He explained that the number of tourist visits on the D-Day, which fell on Sunday (June 25), reached 24 thousand people. The amount is beyond the estimate of the management, which only targeted 20 thousand visitors.
However, Wahyudi explained that the number of visitors to Ragunan Zoo until 10 a.m. on Monday had already recorded 23 thousand visitors.
"Today until 10 a.m., 23 thousand holidaymakers had visited the zoo and will still continue to grow in numbers," he stated.
He explained that during last year's Lebaran season, the peak of tourist visits to Ragunan Zoo occurred on the day after Lebaran, with a total number of 169 thousand people per day.
Wahyudi noted that the difference in the number of days of Lebaran 2017, which is only eight days, will affect the number of visitors compared to last year's 12-day Lebaran holidays. ***4***(A014/INE)EDITED BY INE/H-YH(T.A014/A/BESSR/A/Yosep) 27-06-2017 00:03: |
